In compliance with the contract requirements, all critical diaphragm valves had to be provided with an integral safety locking device to prevent unauthorised valve operations.
Amongst the diverse options available with the DIAVAL programme, a simple padlock chain system was devised by DIAVAL for this contract. This simple concept made the purpose of the contractor without involving a severe price impact onto the standard valve price. The contract called for MONEL made valves and bonnet assemblies to comply with critical environment duties existing in the plant.
